This Research Assistant position is for an NIH -funded Research Assistant to participate in interdisciplinary research on a project titled “Alzheimer’s Disease Pathology in a Primate Model” under Professor Chet Sherwood. This research is based in the GW Laboratory for Evolutionary Neuroscience.
Responsibilities Include
Minimum Qualifications
Qualified candidates will hold a BA/BS in a related discipline. Degree must be conferred by the start date of the position.

This Research Assistant position is for an NIH -funded Research Assistant to participate in interdisciplinary research on a project titled “Alzheimer’s Disease Pathology in a Primate Model” under Professor Chet Sherwood. This research is based in the GW Laboratory for Evolutionary Neuroscience.
Responsibilities Include
- Conduct preparation of samples, electron microscopy imaging, and analyses of resulting data.
- Develop and manage the project pipeline together with collaborators and curate project samples.
- Develop and test laboratory protocols.
- Generate neuroanatomical data and optimize related protocols.
Minimum Qualifications
Qualified candidates will hold a BA/BS in a related discipline. Degree must be conferred by the start date of the position.
Preferred Qualifications
Additional Required Licenses/Certifications/Posting Specific Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in anthropology, biology, neuroscience, genetics, or a related field.
- Expertise in neuroscience techniques, image analysis, bioinformatics, or neuroanatomical or molecular bench skills.
