This Research Assistant position is for an NIH -funded Research Assistant to participate in interdisciplinary research on a project titled “Alzheimer’s Disease Pathology in a Primate Model” under Professor Chet Sherwood. This research is based in the GW Laboratory for Evolutionary Neuroscience.

Responsibilities Include

• Conduct preparation of samples, electron microscopy imaging, and analyses of resulting data.
• Develop and manage the project pipeline together with collaborators and curate project samples.
• Develop and test laboratory protocols.
• Generate neuroanatomical data and optimize related protocols.
  
  

Performs other work-related duties as assigned. The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are logically related to the position.

Minimum Qualifications

Qualified candidates will hold a BA/BS in a related discipline. Degree must be conferred by the start date of the position.

Preferred Qualifications

Additional Required Licenses/Certifications/Posting Specific Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in anthropology, biology, neuroscience, genetics, or a related field.
• Expertise in neuroscience techniques, image analysis, bioinformatics, or neuroanatomical or molecular bench skills.
  
  

Hiring Range $17.50 - $22.51
