Great news to see advancements in accessibility for mental health! Special thanks to Turnwell Mental Health Network for providing TMS treatment to help support patient care! Imaging studies have revealed that the antidepressant benefits of TMS application are associated with modulation of brain region activity and neural network connectivity. This can be extremely helpful for patients who have failed at least two or three adequate trials of antidepressants within their current episode. Patients undergoing TMS therapy are less likely to experience sleep, sexual, and gastrointestinal side effects, as compared to patients taking prescription medications. Our Open House & Ribbon Cutting last week was a fun way to announce our Grand Opening and expansion of service lines including TMS, Spravato (esketamine), and Therapy in the lowcountry.
