In the U.S. on September 22, 1964, President Lyndon Johnson had just signed the civil rights bill into law, Pretty Woman by Roy Orbison was the #1 song on the Billboard Hot 100, and families regularly gathered around their black and white TV sets to watch a new game show called Jeopardy. On that day, Corning engineers Dr. Stuart Dockerty and Clint Shay were also awarded a patent for their invention of a revolutionary glassmaking method called fusion. This process produced remarkably thin, smooth, and flat glass that would reshape the display industry and make a lasting impact on the way we view the world. Defying most preconceived notions of what glass is like, Corning’s ultra-thin bendable glass can flex, flip, fold, and even roll. It’s the type of glass that can radically transform displays—on phones, TVs, laptops and in cars —for years to come. And Corning is leading the way. https://ms.spr.ly/6048mO0P8

We’re excited to announce a key achievement in our continued efforts to reduce our greenhouse gas emissions in collaboration with ib vogt GmbH. In 2025, we expect to offset 100% of our European operations’ electricity consumption through a newly built solar array. The solar farm will produce around 215.5 GWh of solar power per year – which is equivalent to providing 55,000 households with green energy and will prevent up to 47,000 tons of CO? emissions every year over the project’s lifespan.
